This is our furnace. I call it R2D2. It is getting a hydraulic foot pedal before we start it up tonight. The perks of having a husband that does special effects!! He loves hydraulics! My thought is: that it is a heavy lid, due to the fact it is made of metal and firebrick, so if you are dealing with something more than 2000 degrees, it should open and shut easily! Right?
